Hot mods for Skyrim Oblivion and Fallout 4

Hello ladies, gentlemen, comrades and undecided.

So, summer. It’s time for vacations and travel. Well, for some it came, but for others it didn’t. Yes, many now, in principle, have no time for rest, let’s say, there are more pressing matters. And not everyone has the opportunity to go somewhere normally right now. Well, someone left, but into an atmosphere that was by no means conducive to relaxation.

In general, this is your reality, an uncomfortable place, so for those who want to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of hot, sunny countries, but in virtuality, I offer today’s selection of mods.

Let’s clarify a couple of points right away. Firstly, here there will only be mods for games from Besesda, primarily because I am only familiar with them, so if you know anything else suitable on the topic, but for other games, then please write about it in the comments. And secondly, the issue is devoted entirely to the topic of travel, so this is not a top global modification, not a ranking by place, but just a list. And of course, I tried to select only the most exotic destinations for in-game travel, so fewer gloomy dungeons, dark places, depressive regions, only sun, sea, palm trees, sand and, of course, rum, a lot of rum.

Fallout 4. Costa Rica

And first of all, we will go to one small state in Central America, despite the name (from Spanish. Rich Coast), which is going through hard times. But who cares now?? After all, everyone has been living in a post-nuclear apocalypse world for 200 years now. And as you most likely guessed, we are talking about a mod for the fourth Fallout, allowing you to visit this once idyllic place.

Let me make a reservation right away: there are no quests here, or even any storyline as such. It’s just a big open area to explore, with jungles, volcanoes, tropical beaches, typical South American towns, pirates and mutant crocodiles.

And, of course, in fashion there is a place for a new settlement, so that there is an opportunity to create your own hacienda. Unfortunately, the building site is located deep in the jungle, and not on the ocean shore, which some players complained to the author of the mod about. However, the creator assured that adding a settlement on the beach is one of the top priorities in terms of a future update.

In general, as I already said, there is not that much content here, but you can still while away a few hours exploring a rather picturesque area that is not greatly affected by the consequences of the nuclear apocalypse.

Skyrim. The Republic of Maslea.

Well, let’s not stray too far from the South American stylist, although this time presented from a slightly different angle.

So, the modification for Skyrim Republic of Masleya is already a full-fledged, global fan addition. That is, in addition to the new location, namely the tropical archipelago located somewhere in the Padomayan Ocean, there are also new quests, factions, weapons, armor and many other various items and consumables, including tropical fruits, and, of course, rum. Moreover, at one point Dovahkiin will have the opportunity to become the owner of his own estate, with an accompanying sugar plantation and, accordingly, producing his own brand of this drink, but I’m getting ahead of myself.

So, the mod starts with the fact that in the Solitude tavern Dovahkiin will meet a certain young lady in unusual clothes, who will offer him a walk somewhere far away and for a long time. Well, actually, yes, because the ruins where the mysterious stranger will send the Dragonborn are really far from Solitude, and due to the size of the dungeon, you will have to stay there for a considerable time.

In general, some creators of add-ons with new open worlds have such a strange craving that before releasing the player, in fact, into this very open world, they like to marinate him in a long, tedious dungeon.

After the first dungeon, Dovahkiin’s new acquaintance will directly invite him to go sailing with her outside of Tamriel, namely to one tropical state from where she arrived.

The new open world itself looks incredibly picturesque. Moreover, Masleya is not just a typical tropical location, in fact, the environment looks quite fresh, that is, all this style of South America from the times of Spanish colonialism is not the most hackneyed setting. But it’s also worth mentioning that technologically Masleya has gone a little further than Tamriel (though this is a controversial point if you remember the expanded lore, but we’re not here for it now), here society has already come close to the industrial revolution. Well, that is, we already have paper money, swords, clothes with lace, and, of course, firearms, to be more precise, in this case – muskets.

By the way, the creators of the mod are French. Well, what do you think the game, created by the French in a setting similar to South American, will be about?? Naturally, the whole main plot revolves around the revolution.

It must be said that the content in the modification was added with interest, it feels like approximately the size of the new open world, and the duration of the passage, everything exceeds the same Dragonborn by two or three times. So you can really hang out here for a long time.

True, of course, the mod also has one very significant drawback. If you noticed, in the title it is designated as “Chapter 1”. So is there a second chapter?? I think you already guessed what’s wrong with her. Well, that is, the main plot ends literally mid-sentence and in the continuation the protagonist should have already gained access to the capital of Maslei, which, apparently, was conceived by the author as a real metropolis, in comparison with the typical cities of Tamriel, but for several years now, almost nothing has been heard about the continuation.

Well, that is, it’s not that the https://samilandcasino.uk/withdrawal/ project was completely dead, several updates were released for the first chapter with new tasks either in the Dead Lands of Dagon or on the Shivering Isles. Moreover, from time to time, on the discord server, the authors even post screenshots of locations from the second chapter, but for now that’s all there is.

But I propose to take a break from sad thoughts about the fate of the continuation of Masleya by going somewhere where, in addition to the hot sun, sea, palm trees and pineapples, there are all kinds of sweets and cats.

Oblivion. Elseweyr the desert of Anequina.

And of course, we’re talking about the famous fan-made addition for Oblivion, which adds half a new province to the game world. Namely, the desert region of Anequin, which is part of the cat kingdom of Elsweyr.

And despite the fact that it is really full of sweets and cats, the place is not as friendly as it might seem at first glance (however, this is also true of any other region of Tamriel).

Yes, the modification presents a setting inspired by the Middle East, but this is not the “Fairytale East”, everything, again, is quite mundane (as far as this is possible in the case of TES). Well, that is, it’s nice to stroll through the magnificent palace district of Corinth, but even here there are secrets hidden around every corner.

In Elsweyr, in addition to traditional horses, there are many other mounts.

However, do not think that this is a modification, with its own complete plot. Basically, all the tasks here are at the level of not the best jams from the original Oblivion, there are a couple of short stories of guilds, and a branch of quests about the missing alfiks, but this also consists of only a couple of tasks. No, in some places there are funny quests, such as helping a young merchant from Orcrest express her feelings for her object of affection… the minotaur. But overall, quests aren’t exactly the most interesting part of the mod.

You can own this beauty

But the world, and especially the cities, are really developed at the level. Now, of course, this won’t surprise anyone, but for a fan project from the late 2000s and early 1900s, in a sense, this was a real breakthrough.

Well, if you really want to feel the atmosphere of an oriental fairy tale, or something similar, then I suggest moving on to the next point.

Skyrim. Gray Cowl of Nocturnal.

So, a mod for Skyrim, from the name of which it is clear that in the center of the story is one of the two most desired artifacts by all thieves of Tamriel. If you remember, the second, that is, the Skeleton Key, Dovahkiin has already returned Nocturnal himself, according to the Guild’s storyline.

In general, the mod is not directly related to the Thieves Guild arc, but it is better to go through it, nevertheless, with a well-pumped stealth skill. Although, on the other hand, it will only be useful once, and only to get one not very useful thing. But let’s move on to the mod itself.

A new adventure begins as soon as the Dovahkiin steals something from someone, it doesn’t matter from a pocket or from a house, the main thing is that the thing is designated as stolen. Well, then suddenly a vision sent by Nocturnal will descend, indicating the place where you should go.

I will not retell in detail all the twists and turns of the plot, I will only say that the Champion of Cyrodiil, shortly before his death, prepared a kind of obstacle course for the Dragonborn, the reward at the end of which would be the same legendary Hood of Nocturnal.

The hero of Skyrim will have to visit a strange dungeon located somewhere on the border of the worlds, Sancre Tor, the prison of the Imperial City, Cold Harbor and an intricate labyrinth. But all this is just a warm-up before the Dragonborn ends up in an isolated valley located in the A’likr desert.

In addition to the relatively small settlement of descendants of legionnaires who have lived here since the beginning of the Fourth Era, there are also many mysterious places, such as a ghost town inhabited by ghosts, the pyramid of an ancient sorcerer, gloomy tombs and abandoned temples.

In general, the mod is clearly trying to immerse the player in the atmosphere of adventure films like Indiana Jones or The Mummy (there is even a very obvious reference to the latter). Well, in general, of course, an atmosphere of a kind of oriental mystery is felt in everything, considering how many mysteries the valley holds within itself.

The addition itself is not that big, the amount of content does not reach global fan projects, such as the aforementioned Masleya, but still, there is enough content to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the mysterious East for several evenings.

Oblivion. Dwemer Art: Alik’r Desert

A rather similar approach was used by the authors of the domestic mod for Oblivion, also dedicated to the lands of Alik’ra. But at the same time, at a scale several times larger.

That is, before us is also a vast valley, surrounded on all sides by a mountain range, somewhere in the hot desert of Hammerfell. But if in the Hood there was only one castle with an adjacent village, then here we have two relatively large cities, many dungeons, quests and everything that usually happens in such mods. And in general, this is already a truly full-fledged global addition.

True, I admit honestly, I personally haven’t completed this mod yet, but judging by what I found on the Internet, there’s definitely about 15 hours of content here.

Although this is not the main thing that caught my eye. I mean, there’s just some incredible work done with the visual component. That is, the views here are so stunning that you can admire them endlessly.

Well, also, the mod is voiced quite well.

Oblivion. Der Orden des Drachen.

But this is a mod for Oblivion from German authors. And to be honest, for a long time I doubted whether it was worth including it in the selection, and for several reasons at once. But first things first.

So, the plot of the mod starts immediately after completing the main quest. That is, some time after Martin turns into a statue, a messenger from the Chancellor will arrive to the Champion of Cyrodiil. As it turns out, Okato not only promoted the Hero of Kvatch to the Knights of the Order of the Dragon, but also planned to revive this very order, appointing the protagonist as the new master. Well, a considerable part of the main plot of the mod is directly in the already familiar Cyrodiil, and, to be honest, it is far from the best part of it.

But at some point, the protagonist will suddenly be thrown into the plane of Mephala, which looks like a very inhospitable desert area, the population of which is mainly Dunmer.

And unlike previous projects, where the Middle Eastern setting was presented as something exotic, with a kind of flair of romance, the land of Mephala is a cruel and inhospitable place. Actually, this, along with the fact that a significant part of the modification’s plot takes place in locations from the original game, is one of the reasons for my doubts about whether it was appropriate to include “Order of the Dragon” in this collection.

Yes, if we approach this issue formally, then it seems that the mod meets all the criteria I mentioned at the beginning of the video, that is, there is the sea, palm trees, a sandy desert, an endless savannah, through which you can ride on your white… guar.

But do not forget that all this beauty is located in the plane of Mephala, the Daedra patroness of secrets, deception and contract killings. That is, this place is quite inhospitable. In general, oddly enough, the first association that comes to mind is the desert from the second Diablo. Well, or, oddly enough, some Dune vibes may arise; in fact, the fashion even has a quest that clearly refers to it, in the plot of which the protagonist will have to visit the insides of a sandworm.

Well, we come to the second point, why I finally can’t decide whether to recommend this mod to you or not – these are quests. On the one hand, even for a global mod there are some incredible numbers of them. In addition, there are quite interesting ones, with a good presentation and plot. However, this also has its drawbacks; in some places the implementation is just incredibly crooked and stuffy, but this is perhaps the most appropriate word. That is, without a guide, a significant part of the mod will be quite difficult to complete, and this is not due to complex riddles. At times, quest givers will send the protagonist to walk through the desert, but at a very (!) rare exceptions in fashion there are no markers. “So what’s wrong?"- many will say – “After all, in the same Morrowind there were no indicating marks at all, but somehow people got by". And this is of course true, but the only thing is that in Morrowind there was always, more or less, a detailed route described, along which you could completely navigate. But in this modification, usually, they only tell you an approximate direction, that is, something like “somewhere on the server,” but the open world is very large and you can search for the indicated place for a very long time.

But the most egregious case is, of course, the quest to gain access to Qatar. Let me explain, in the modification there is only one large city, which in fact is the capital of these desert lands. And, of course, as you most likely already guessed, many quests are associated with this location, but initially access to the city is closed. Moreover, there is even the Order of Assassins, with its own storyline, but to join it, you must, again, first gain access to Qatar.
