Major publishers would have long ago turned the success of the first part of Hotline Miami into serial production of sequels, prequels, and even reboots. However, when two very original people are at the helm, everything happens a little differently. You will learn about what to expect from Hotline Miami 2: The Wrong Number in our review.

Perhaps this is a personal quibble, but the current level design really infuriates me. Let me quote a review from Steam: “I fucked these windows”. How much time did I spend standing behind a wall and luring people to my ass, rather than skillfully rushing through a bunch of enemies, picking up their weapons as I went and committing genocide?. And all this is because of the glass, because if you allow yourself to accelerate even a little, then a guy with a gun will punish you from another part of the location. Well and one more thing. It’s unclear what monitors the game was created for, but I spent the lion’s share of my time completely randomly killing enemies in another part of the location. If in the first part you could perfectly see the location of the enemies and you could draw up an action plan, then here you kill everyone in sight, and then start the level again because of the guy with a double-barreled gun in the left corner of the map. Even if the location was larger than the screen, the opponents stood either around the corner or with their backs, and it was easier to react to them, because they stood right in front of the player and it was enough to quickly press the left mouse button. By the way, Vanya showed one of the moments in the footage when you play for two swans (in this segment these are obligatory characters). There are two enemies patrolling the area down there. Because of them, I pressed the R button 8-10 times exactly, because they are there, then they are in another part of the corridor, the end of which is also not visible. Extravaganza of windows and poorly thought out locations leave an unpleasant feeling in a wonderful game.
Small bug: Mark, who wears a bear mask, can throw away his SMGs, but only if the ammunition is completely used up.
I don’t quite agree. The plot is ok, but of course for a better understanding it is better to go through it twice. Then all the time division disappears. There are bugs, but if an enemy gets stuck in the door, the chance of his death is close to 100%. This is exactly the bug that plagues the game. Judging by the names, the music is from the same set of musicians, just different tracks. And yes the music is great. Breaking by masks does not break at all. Masko has become less, but better. Previously, there were all sorts of crocodile or purple cheetah masks, which did not really influence the game and did not help much.
I would put raisins.

70% disagree with the review. If your hands are not crooked, then you can pass the level with any mask or character, they were not sharpened for anything, and if you don’t pass at A+, then you don’t have to bother at all. The plot becomes immediately clear as soon as you beat the game and the whole mosaic falls into place. There are just more bosses with whom you are left 1 on 1, and they are more complete, not like ordinary enemies. And there were bugs at the beginning of the release of the first part. There are still few bugs, considering that this is an indie. Although you still can’t write it down as a plus. Well, in the end it turns out that the review is full of subjectivity, as always “… on Stop. Game. Ru."
I’m sorry, of course, but you weren’t confused by the fact that on the last level: The two-headed duck had long necks! Come up with them yourself… =b
I love this game! Nostalgia for old toys is off the charts! The atmosphere is just crazy because of the design, music and the same graphics. The game caused more positive emotions than any next-gen.
I played and was spitting terribly at some levels, and then I saw a dude hit a combo of 90 (. ) on Dead Ahead, which I considered unsuccessful, and I started thinking – maybe I’m actually being crooked?

Dude, it’s so ignorant to write in 2015 – this is a real failure, and not the fact that we’re all covered in pixels and are happy.
yeah… in Miami. A bat and a sharpener to boot… +with a beard he looks like that actor who got a kick out of killing children..
yes yes! unlike the commando warrior, and well, it was so infuriating that I went through the last 2 levels almost entirely with a knife… ala the green beret..
I don’t know what made you mad about the glass, but I didn’t have any problems with it. And what is this nonsense about murder across the entire location?? Enemies see as far as you do, or maybe a little less.
Hotline Mayami is not for tactics, but for jerking off at the same level, when the location of all enemies is not shown on the screen, but in your head.
And someone doesn’t know how to use shift and learn from their own mistakes, since they die in a corridor that you can shoot through to see +2x in the combo indicator.
The dude already broke the meter, but they only gave him an S? It should have been "OMG how in a hell you made it"?».
